Overview about permissions Oracle basic for Developer Database

In this Oracle, we will summary about some privileges/permissions Oracle basic before we want manage database.

We need to know about as create user (schema), grant privilege login, create object and many other properties…

1) Basic permissions

– At first, we create a user (schema) on Oracle with name is “ADMIN1” and password is “123456”

– Change password of ADMIN1 user

– Create quota 200M for user ADMIN1

– To login into Oracle, we need grant connecting privilege for ADMIN1 user

– Grant permissions create procedure, table, function …

– Grant permissions for ADMIN1 user can debug when develop

– Ex:  You have 2 user A and user B, you want to grant permission select table to user A and then from user A can grant permission select this table to user B.

– With views of system, to grant select privilege must as below

– Grant all permissions as create objects, insert, update, delete data …

– Delete user (schema) with option CASCADE is user have objects

2) Import and export data

– We will use SQL PLUS to copy or insert data from one table to others table in between Server DB_A and Server DB_B

– Out file, create folder in Oracle on linux (/) and window (\)

3) Backup/restore data and tuning

– Backup data

– Run command line to execute export in folder oracle you can find with word “expdp” and “impdp” to know more detail about options

– Create data file oracle when tablespace be full

– Shrink table, resize, scale …

4) additions

– Reset pass for user SYS or SYSTEM if you forgot password of user sys

     a) the first way:

  • using sql plus on server, open CMD and type
    C:\Users\user.domain>set ORACLE_SID=ORCL
    C:\Users\user.domain>sqlplus / as sysdba

     b) the second way:

  • open D:\app\user.domain\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\database on server ORACLE_SID
  • backup file PWD (PWDorcl.ora) and delete this file
  • run CMD with admistrator
    move to folder: D:\app\user.domain\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\database> and run command like as below:
    ORAPWD file=PWDorcl.ora password=123456

– Create database link

– Check table has reference to other tables

– Create/Drop/Disable jobs and modify interval

– Some tables need to know to check when you have issue

– Execute sql command
